Scope and content

The ruined city of Leskovik whose women were once famous as the best cooks in Albania. Although in Albania it lies on the main road from Iannina to Florina in Greece and and thus was on a main line for the German retreat northward at the end of the war and a centre of Partisan activity against the ennemy. It paid dearly for its geographical position as one can see from this empty shell of a once lovely town.
