These files originated from the offices of Special Assistant for Congo Civilian Operations Gustavo Duran and Special Advisor for Civilian Affairs in the Congo Sir Alexander MacFarquhar. Records include reports on the role of UNESCO, assistance to provinces, problems of unemployed youth in Leopoldville, and progress reports on agriculture, communications, education, finance, foreign trade, health, labor, magistrature, military, natural resources, and public administration. Also included are mission reports on the investigation into the effects of the overflow of Lake Tanganyika in the City of Albertville and regarding the damage and repair of bridges in Katanga.
