Workmen at Kowloon assemble some of the 3445 freigthcars brought to China by UNRRA as part of the relief oragnization's large programme of railroad rhabilitation. Minister of Communications Yu Ta-Wei has expressed his appreciation to UNRRA on the completion of this programme.

The railroad yard at Woosung, where hundreds of UNRRA freight cars were assembled as part of the relief organization's railway rehabilitation programme. Minister of Communications Yu Ta-Wei has commended UNRRA for the completion of this program, which includes 3445 freight cars.

Heavily laden with the largest ocean-borne shipment of railroad locomotives in transportation history, the Norwegian trainship SS Beljeanne swings slowly around in the Whangpoo River, near Shanghai, before she berthed at the Changwapang railway wharf at Woosung Friday, 5 July 1947 The big trainship brought 48 brand-new 100-ton Baldwin and Lima locomotives from Weehawken, New Jersey, as part of UNRRA's program to rehabilitate China's war-depleted railroad transportation system'
