Includes original and copy letters to the Secretary-General from Permanent Representatives to the U.N. for India and Pakistan. Bulk of the material dates from the 1960s through the 1970s and concerns the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP). Accessions were originally part of the Central Files of the Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Special Political Affairs. Subjects include the mission on withdrawals; cease-fire line violations in Kashmir and Jammu; military observers (by country); prisoners of war; refugees, disaster relief and humanitarian assistance; and quantum of forces.
