Records of S-1815 include: ONUSAL Standard Operating Procedures; organization charts and papers for various offices and sub-offices; terms of reference for mission personnel; guidelines for Military Liaison Officers and Police Monitors on assignment; reports of the Secretary-General on ONUSAL and the peace process in El Salvador; and correspondence of the Chief Administrative Officer with Regional Coordinators regarding the phasing-out of the mission.

Series consists of correspondence, memoranda, reports and United Nations documents relating to personnel and staff matters at headquarters and overseas. Subject categories relate to employment applications and appointments, employee terminations with special circumstances leading to departmental investigations, staff housing, intern programs, staff missing in action, pension plan, Personnel Selection Committee reports, and salaries and contracts. Administrative history: The Registry Section was established ca. 1954; the system was discontinued in 1979, after the decision to move to a decentralized records management system. Function was the centralization of Secretariat recordkeeping in one large classification system. Predecessor was Central Registry Section. Succeeded by decentralized recordkeeping by departments in consultation with the Archives Section's records management programme.

Series consists of the Registry Section's files relating to administrative matters. Arranged numerically according to filing plan, and therein chronologically.
