Series consists of correspondence, incoming and outgoing clear cables, memoranda, and reports relating to the UN's food relief operations in Dacca, East Pakistan before, during, and after the war between India and Pakistan, and is divided into five major subject categories as follows: a) administration, including communications, transportation, clearance of the Chalna port, and policies and procedures; b) staff, including files on senior and lower echelon staff members, as well as some substantive material on the various special representatives; c) donors, including appeals and meetings with countries donating to relief efforts; d) general, including press reports and clippings; e) reports, including progress updates and Special Representative Toni Hagen's reports on disaster relief. Correspondents include Under-Secretary-General for Special Political Affairs Roberto Guyer, Special Officer F.T. Liu, Mission Commanders Victor Umbricht, Sir Robert Jackson, and Francis Lacoste, and High Commissioner for Refugees Ambassador Erna Sailer.
