Series consists of a chronological sequence of letters, numbered code cables, pages from the violations log (most of which is with series 8), all relating to UNMOGIP's reporting on violations, incidents, and a local demonstration. Early records are those of Andrew Cordier, Executive Assistant to the Secretary-General, and later records were those of Ralph Bunche, Under-Secretary-General for Special Political Affairs. One incident case file ('Nekowal incident' 1955-1956) contains letters, news clippings, telexes, and a map showing Nekowal area (manuscript). The primary correspondent is the Chief Military Observer.
