Series contains chronological files, incoming and outgoing correspondence, notes and working papers for the Department of Political and Security Council Affairs, personal documents, such as drafts of speeches, curriculum vitae, travel arrangements and immigration papers. Also documented are the activities relating to the International Cooperation Year - ICY, such as meetings of the ICY Preparatory Committee, statements by various UN and diplomatic officials, participant information, news clippings and brochures.

Series consists of working papers, notes, minutes of meetings, reports, organizational charts, and correspondence relating to the activity of Secretary-General's Working Group on the Secretariat Survey in 1953-1955. Documented are functions and organizational structure of various departments and commissions within the Secretariat and proposals for their reorganization. Included are the surveys of the UN. organizations in New York, Geneva, London, Mexico etc. Correspondents are assistant to S-G on Conference and General Services David Vaughan, Principal Director of Department of Economic Affairs Roy Blough, and other top officials within departments and commissions.

Series consists of texts and drafts of speeches and addresses by the Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim, along with briefs, reports and background information, handwritten notes and related correspondence. Also included are materials, drafts and a master copy of Building the Future Order, a book of speeches by Kurt Waldheim. Files were accumulated by principal officer of Executive Office Robert Rhodes James.
