UN. Executive Assistant to the Secretary-General - 1946-1961: Cordier

Series consists of minutes of meetings, membership lists, resolutions and reports of the General Assembly relating to the United Nations Committee on United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration - UNRRA, memoranda, letters and cablegrams on contributions to UNRRA and UN-UNRRA relations. The Committee was created in spring of 1946, to facilitate the final stages of UNRRA work and the generation of additional contributions. Also included are Nos. 52 and 58 of The Journal of The United Nations. Correspondents include Chairman of the Committee Sol Bloom, Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary-General on Economic Affairs A. E. Ritchie, diplomatic officials of the contributing countries.

Series consists of correspondence and memoranda, registers, newspaper clippings, clear and code cables, photographs, speeches, 1200 feet of radio broadcast tape documenting the Commemorative Service in Tog-Lome - 29 September 1961 and United Nations documents. Subjects cover public relations including speeches, press conferences and letters from the public attached to responses. Approximately 1.5 linear feet of records pertain to the death of Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold including condolence registers sent from United Nations missions - 1961-1962. United Nations events - subject files

Series consists of correspondence and memoranda, incoming and outgoing clear cables and telegrams, press releases, newspaper clippings, and printed materials, such as, programmes and brochures, and speeches and photographs relating to the planning and coordination of United Nations events. Events recorded include Staff Day for 1955 and 1956; and the second, fifth, sixth and tenth anniversaries of the United Nations. The bulk of the material relates to the Tenth Anniversary of the Signing of the United Nations Charter held in San Francisco in 1955 including the activities planned in celebration of the day, such as, art exhibitions and banquets. Other subjects areas cover itineraries, protocol, programme committee plans, and congratulatory messages from governments and the public.
