The Statistical Records and Reports Division was established 15 April 1944 by Bureau of Supply Order No. 8.
The functions, authorities and responsibilities of this division were as follows:
To assume leadership in the Bureau of Supply for the establishment and maintenance of appropriate records and reports and to review all proposed records and reports for conformity with established standards and policies of the Bureau prior to submission for approval to the Deputy Director General.
To formulate for approval standards to be maintained and records to be established and to establish and maintain records according to such approved standards with respect to estimates of requirements, allocations requested, allocations approved, goods procured under such allocations or under allocations made directly to paying governments, goods in storage, goods forwarded and goods shipped to receiving countries.
To establish and maintain effective liaison through appropriate channels with the Bureau of Supply at London and regional offices generally and with supply missions in supplying countries in order to insure the establishment of records serving purposes in those offices and missions so that the Bureau of Supply at Headquarters may be kept fully informed of progress under UNRRA's supply program.
To formulate and/or to consolidate for approval periodic reports to be submitted by the Bureau of Supply in London and other regional offices and supply missions to the Deputy Director General and to maintain at all times a consolidated record that will reflect overall progress being made under UNRRA's supply program.
To assume such other related responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
On 10 May 1946, Headquarters Administrative Order No. 92, Supplement No. 3 announced the abolition of the Division of Statistical Records and Reports, effective 1 May 1946 and the establishment of Division of Commodity Records in the Bureau of Accounts and Finance
