Series consists of letters, memoranda, reports, notes for the files, newspaper clippings, selected United Nations documents and photographs (b&w, 4 6x7, 14 4x6) relating to the treatment of prisoners of war and civilians in the Israeli occupied territories, including meetings with representatives of Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Syria, visits and interviews conducted by the Secretary-General's Special Representative Nils Goran Gussing, incidents reported to the United Nations Relief Works Administration (UNRWA) amd activities of volunteer agencies. Primary correspondents include Bunche, Red Cross and UNRWA officials.

Executive Assistant to SG (1946-1961: Cordier)

Series contains cables, correspondence, reports, photographs, and maps related to activities of Hashemite Jordan Kingdom-Israel Mixed Armistice Commission (HJK-I-MAC). Commission set up to resolve minor incidents between Jordan and Israel over border crossings, overflights by aircraft, illegal cultivation, etc. Much of the correspondence is between UNTSO (responsible for control of the various MAC's) and UN headquarters, but some is also between Jordan or Israel and UNTSO or UN headquarters. Also contains investigation files undertaken by UN military observers (UNMO) which include photographs and written reports of the incidents. Series also contains files on Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem, which was under the authority of the HJK-I-MAC chairman.

Under-Secretary General for UNROD/UNROB (1972-1974:Jackson)

Series consists of personal workfiles of Sir Robert Jackson, reports by various UN and diplomatic officials, notes, minutes of meetings, plans and requirements for assistance and aid to Bangladesh and Pakistan, progress reports, press releases, newspaper clippings, photographs, invoices, letters, clear and code cables. Documented are flood relief and reconstruction in Pakistan, repatriation and resettlement of refugees in Pakistan and Bangladesh, development of agriculture and transportation, food shipments, and Chalna Port Shipwreck clearance. Documents created prior to 1972 relate to prior activities in the area and were accumulated as background information. Records created after 1974 contain correspondence related to residual funds from UNROB, staff and policy issues, reports on the continuation of food shipments. Correspondents include Senior Industrial Development Officer Nicky Berendjick, Chef-de Cabinet Chakravarthi Narasimhan, and Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim.

Subjects include the Security Council Subcommittee Mission, created in response to Laotian complaints of Vietnamese incursions. Also included is correspondence to the UN mission to Laos involving administrative issues such as personnel shifts, financial matters, investigations of complaints and interviews of witnesses, protocol and technical assistance, and radio broadcasts.
