Series consists of letters, memoranda, code and clear cables (carbon copies), reports, aide-memoire, notes, publications, newspaper clippings and selected United Nations documents relating to political and administrative matters, including incidents, meetings of Pier Spinelli with King Hussein and Prime Minister Samir Rifai on the Secretary-General's peace initiative, the border closing between Jordan and Syria, allegations against the United Arab Repubic of interference into Jordan's domestic affairs, the resumption of diplomatic relations between the United Arab Republic and Jordan, the withdrawal of British troops, media coverage of the local political situation and the United Nations activities, the establishment of United Nations offices in Amman and Beirut, communications facilities, transport and personnel. Series consists of reports submitted to the Executive Assistant (Andrew Cordier), and later to the Under Secretary-General (Bunche), by the Chief Military Observer (typescript), reporting on all aspects of UNMOGIP. The administration reports, which were issued monthly (January 1951 to October 1953), report on the numbers of observers and changes in personnel, as well as on their medical problems, and on other matters such as equipment, flights, transportation, and communications. The operations reports, issued twice per month (numbered 1 through 356, dated November 1950 to September 1965), contain summaries of complaints and incidents. Arranged by type of report.

Series consists of incoming and outgoing code cables, reports, correspondence, newsclippings, etc. and includes an organizational chart for ANC training and modernization under the United Nations umbrella, resolutions regarding ANC training, issues surrounding ONUC's role and the ANC in Katanga -- specifically the relationship between the Katanga gendarmerie, ANC, and ONUC. Series consists of reports, incoming and outgoing clear cables, correspondence, briefing papers, press conference transcripts, press releases, itineraries, and notes from meetings relating to Ralph Bunche's trips to the Congo during the spring/summer of 1960, fall 1962, and winter 1963. During these trips, Bunche represented the Secretary-General or acted as a consultant during the decolonization process. Correspondents include Under-Secretary for Special Political Affairs Ralph Bunche, Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold, and Congolese Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba.
