Series early records are those of Andrew Cordier, Executive Assistant to the Secretary-General, and later records those of Ralph Bunche, Under-Secretary-General for Special Political Affairs. Records types include letters and a wide variety of attachments, including numbered code cables, new clippings, 15 photographs, and United Nations documents, (including some 1958 "Summaries of developments", mimeographed), relating to UNCURK. Documented are political and economic developments in Korea, including civilian problems, and proceedings of the Committee of UNCURK. Executive Assistant to SG (1946-1961: Cordier)

Series contains cables, correspondence, reports, photographs, and maps related to activities of Hashemite Jordan Kingdom-Israel Mixed Armistice Commission (HJK-I-MAC). Commission set up to resolve minor incidents between Jordan and Israel over border crossings, overflights by aircraft, illegal cultivation, etc. Much of the correspondence is between UNTSO (responsible for control of the various MAC's) and UN headquarters, but some is also between Jordan or Israel and UNTSO or UN headquarters. Also contains investigation files undertaken by UN military observers (UNMO) which include photographs and written reports of the incidents. Series also contains files on Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem, which was under the authority of the HJK-I-MAC chairman.

Series consists of a log entitled "UNMOGIP reports on complaints and violations" consisting of cease-fire and border violations alleged by India or Pakistan about the other (typescript). Information includes complaint particulars and the Chief Military Observer's decisions on whether a violation had in fact occurred. Reports dated 1949-1957 are initialled by H. R. Nimmo, the Chief Military Observer. Until 1958 the log was filed in two binders (with custom-printed covers); thereafter, log pages were not necessarily filed together. Some reports from 1959-1960 and from 1964 were interfiled, some of them formatted as correspondence, with series 13 - 'Incident files relating to UNMOGIP.' Arranged chronologically.

Series consists of correspondence, memoranda, number and unnumbered code and clear cables (incoming and outgoing), United Nations documents, press releases, meeting minutes, reports, agreements, maps, and photographs regarding India and Pakistan. Includes original and copy letters to the Secretary-General from Permanent Representatives to the U.N. for India and Pakistan. Also includes manuals for military observers, weekly SITREPS, operational reports and service reports of military observers. Bulk of the material dates from the 1960s through the 1970s and concerns the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP). Accessions were originally part of the Central Files of the Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Special Political Affairs. Subjects include the mission on withdrawals; cease-fire line violations in Kashmir and Jammu; military observers (by country); prisoners of war; refugees, disaster relief and humanitarian assistance; and quantum of forces. Also includes military matters; aircraft; the Secretary-General's trips to India and Pakistan; and local political demonstrations.
