Series consists of the papers retained by Ralph J. Bunche throughout his employment with the UN. Subjects include the 1949 Israel-TransJordan General Armistice Agreement (annexes contain maps); the 1949 Israel-Syrian General Armistice Agreement; the Convention d'Armistice; the 1949 Israel-Lebanese General Armistice agreement (with map); armistice negotiations; and congratulatory messages conferred upon Bunche for his receipt of various awards and honors. Files contain the original armistice agreements with signatures.

Series consists of letters, memoranda, clear cables, numbered code cables, reports of the UNCI Principal Secretary, press releases, texts of the General Assembly President's speeches and broadcasts (copies), and United Nations documents relating to UNCI administration, as well as information on military developments and political negotiations with representatives of the Netherlands and Indonesia. The reports are addressed to the Principal Director of the Department of Security Council Affairs D. Protitch. Most of the letters are Andrew W. Cordier's copies of correspondence between the Principal Secretary J.A. Romanos and Protitch. Cordier's correspondence is primarily with Romanos. Arranged in broad subject categories.
