Series consists of personal working files created by James F. Engers as senior Political Affairs Officer, Department of Political and Security Council Affairs - 1946-1962, Senior Political Affairs Officer on loan to the Executive Office of the Secretary-General - 1960-1962, and Executive Officer of The Executive Office of the Secretary-General - 1963-1967. Series contains chronological files, incoming and outgoing correspondence, notes and working papers for the Department of Political and Security Council Affairs, personal documents, such as drafts of speeches, curriculum vitae, travel arrangements and immigration papers. Also documented are the activities relating to the International Cooperation Year - ICY, such as meetings of the ICY Preparatory Committee, statements by various UN and diplomatic officials, participant information, news clippings and brochures.
