Series consists of code cables, cables, forms, handwritten notes, photographs, translations, letters, minutes of meetings, newspaper clippings, reports, speeches, drafts, invitations and resumes. Subjects include but are not limited to the following: the death of U Thant's son - condolences; heath issues, especially reoccurring ulcer - 'get well' wishes and concern; personal finances - housing, transportation, salary and accounts; birth of grandchildren; personal information on U Thant's family; birthday congratulations; Chinese representation in the UN; the situation in Vietnam; and daily reports from regional.
